Lib-Dems call for better police data

At last nights Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership meeting the Lib-Dems called for better data to be made available on police operations. Statistics are currently provided showing the number of stop and searches carried out by the police, together with the number of overall arrests, but these tell only part of the story. Speaking at the meeting Cllr David Watts said "These figures give us some details, but they don't tell us what the end outcome was. We know the police did 60 searches of people, but how many of these resulted in something being found. We know the number of people arrested, but how many of those led to a charge or caution. If people were charged how many were convicted. Without this information we cannot properly monitor how effectively the police are operating in broxtowe."
