Former broxtowe Member to run for Leadership

The Lib-Dem Home Affairs spokesperson, Nick Clegg MP, a former member of the Broxtowe local party, is announcing today that he will run for the leadership of the Liberal Democrats. Mr Clegg, who has already been installed as favourite by the bookies and who has attracted the support of many high profile figures within the party, was a member of the Broxtowe local party from 1998 to 2002, whilst he was an MEP for the East Midlands. He transferred his membership to the Sheffield Hallam constituency after being selected as their parliamentary candidate, and subsequently became the MP for that constituency. We wish Nick well in his leadership campaign.
