Council Calls For Rail Improvements

Lib-Dem led Broxtowe Borough Council is working with East Midlands Trains, the new franchise holder for the Midland Mainline and Central Trains routes, to bring about improvements for rail users in the borough. Amongst the initiatives being discussed are improved car parking at Beeston Station (the provision of marked bays being the first sign of this and certainly a big improvement on the previous arrangements), renovations to the shelters at Beeston, and improved rail services from both Beeston and Attenborough. The announcement by East Midlands trains that they want to run faster services from Nottingham to London is excellent news, although again this only represents a first step.
