Great Results For The Lib-Dems

It's been a great set of election results in Broxtowe for the Liberal Democrats. Despite one of the dirtiest campaigns ever by the Tories, we achieved every one of our goals. We won all five seats that we targetted and we pushed Labours overall share of the vote well into third place. It's now abundently clear that Labour aren't going to win the Broxtowe parliamentary seta next time and the only way to stop the Tories is by voting Lib-Dem.

We won both seats in Bramcote and Stapleford, we won Kimberley and Trowell, we won Beeston North and we won in Eastwood. In the Beeston north borough council by election as well we won that, with our candidate Barbara Carr polling more than 50% of the vote.

Our parliamentary spokesperson David Watts said:
"This has been a great day for us and a very bad day for Labour." It's clear that the Labour Party are on their way out in Broxtowe. This is two elections in a row where they have come third, both in terms of seats won (or not won today) and in terms of votes cast. The only credible challenge to the Conservatives now in Broxtowe comes from the Liberal Democrats."
